Ordering Cast Stone Balustrade / Balustrading. Because of the large number of balustrade orders that are produced by Shepton Classic Stone, it is important that if you are planning to place an order for stone balustrade with us, the order should be booked at the earliest opportunity to reduce the risk of a delay due to the amount of orders that may have already been booked at the time. Also any balustrade order that has just been made will need a minimum of ten days curing time (time to harden / cure) before it can be transported, or collected. WE ARE ABLE TO DELIVER STONE BALUSTRADE TO MOST PARTS OF THE UK BY VAN.UK BUILDING REGULATIONS FOR STONE BALUSTER SPACING.If the balustrade that you are planning needs to meet current UK building regulations, i.e. the 100mm sphere rule, the balusters will need to be closer than the traditional 12 inch centers and you will also need to use spacer rods in order to meet this 100mm gap rule. Classic teardrop balusters will not meet the current UK building regulations without the use of spacer rods / bars. We have found that although the use of spacer rods is unavoidable in order to meet current building regulations, if the spacer rods / bars are painted black before they are installed, they are not visible to a casual observer or passer-by. The eye is draw to the classic teardrop shape of the balusters, and the overall look of the stone balustrade, rather than the black spacer rods / bars.
